Playing on the nuances of depth, Hubert Jouzeau’s paintings focus on both the duality of perspective in space and of the inner mind. Inspired by the lines of fictive medieval architecture, his work offers a personal exploration of an unknown destination, challenging the viewer to delve into the somber hues of stormy landscapes. Taking cues from the technique of classical religious iconography, Jouzeau’s usage of gold pigmentation is central to the definition of the role played by structure and light in all their interpretations.
